Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated EAL Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in the Tameside area. If you are passionate about supporting students who speak English as an Additional Language and are eager to make a positive impact on their educational experience, we want to hear from you!
Position: EAL Teaching Assistant
Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with varying levels of English proficiency in their academic and social development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting individual and small groups of students in the classroom.
- Assisting with language development, including helping students with understanding and completing tasks.
- Offering tailored support for students with EAL to integrate fully into the school environment.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Helping students with EAL in developing their language skills to access the full curriculum.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Have a passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
- Experience working with EAL students (desirable but not essential).
- Be patient, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A good level of English and, ideally, some understanding of additional languages is advantageous.
