Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join a thriving secondary school from September 2026 or January 2027. The Role

  • Full-time Religious Education Teacher
  • Start date: September 2026 or January 2027
  • Teaching Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
  • Pay to scale, up to UPS1 (up to £260 per day), depending on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities

As the successful Religious Education Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Religious Education lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident expressing and discussing different beliefs, values, and perspectives.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they are supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Create a positive and well-managed learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and share best practice.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and school events.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all students.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous secondary school teaching experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and professional development.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
