Reception Teaching Assistant

EYFS TA required for Colne Primary school

Popular Colne Primary school

32.5 hours per week

September 2020 – April 2021

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a ‘popular’ Primary school in Colne who require an EYFS Teaching Assistant to cover a full Maternity from September 2020. The role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support the children within the class. The main duties will include providing general support in the class, delivering small group/small group intervention sessions, working in the outdoor provision, completing baseline assessment & learning journeys. There are two pupils joining the school/class with educational health care plans, alongside a number of pupils who aren’t ‘school ready’. The EYFS unit has excellent facilities, with a state of the art outdoor provision area. The teacher within the class is very experienced & has been in post for over 10 years. There will also be another full time TA who again is experienced within the early years.   

The role will be working 5 days per week working from 8:30 – 15:30 and the expectation is that the successful candidate will continue on a long-term temporary contract. As with all supply roles, this is an excellent opportunity to get your ‘foot in the door’ of an established, high performing Colne Primary School. The role has been confirmed that it will be for at least 9 months, possibly 12. This school has used Teaching Personnel to source permanent staff.

It is essential that you have recent and prior experience working alongside children in Early Years Foundation Stage. Experience delivering either Read Write Inc. or Letters & Sounds Phonics would be desirable but not essential. Candidate’s would need to be a level 2 to be considered for the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
