EYFS Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.
Working alongside the class teacher, you will help create a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
EYFS Teaching Assistant
Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026 or ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning activities across the EYFS curriculum.
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning environments.
- Encourage children's development through play-based learning and structured activities.
- Support children's personal, social, and emotional development.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Observe children's progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
- Support children with additional needs where required.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children within an EYFS setting.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
- A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting children.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
