Reception Teaching Assistant
Location: Bristol (BS3)
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday (term time)
Salary: £92.60 - £105 per day
About the Role
We are working closely with a welcoming and well‑established primary school in BS3 who are seeking a friendly and proactive Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.
This is a general classroom TA role within a Reception class, working collaboratively alongside the Reception Teacher, Early Years Lead, and an existing 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. The school is looking for someone who is nurturing, adaptable and passionate about supporting children at the very start of their school journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the Reception Teacher with daily classroom routines and activities
- Assist with play‑based and early learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework
- Support children’s communication, social and emotional development
- Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with the Early Years Lead and SEN support staff
- Provide general classroom support, including small‑group and whole‑class activities
- Support transitions, tidying routines and outdoor learning sessions
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates who have:
- Experience working with EYFS‑aged children, ideally in a school or nursery setting
- A nurturing, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Confidence working as part of a team within a busy classroom
- An understanding of play‑based learning and early childhood development
- Good communication and behaviour‑support skills
- SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
