We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Manchester. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ADHD.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities and lessons.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on the progress and development of the pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Encourage and promote independence and confidence in pupils.
- Provide support during school activities, outings, and events.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- A good understanding of ADHD and strategies to support pupils with this condition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
