Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for Psychology graduates to join one of our client schools in Tameside as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
This position will start in September, it will be a full-time role.
The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week.
You must be able to apply the content from your university modules, into the classroom. You must have a good understanding of autism and the impact that it can have on the development of young people. You should understand the behavioural traits that can be displayed as a result of special educational needs and be able to support the pupils in their development.
Currently the school is working to improve their academic performance, 29% of their pupils are achieving a grade 5 or higher in both Maths and English at GCSE. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the pupils you are supporting are given the tools to achieve their academic potential. You will work closely with pupils, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis to ensure that you can properly support the pupils academically and emotionally.
This school is in a disadvantaged area, 44% of the pupils are eligible for free school meals. You must be able to support the pupils to the best of your ability to ensure that they are receiving the best education possible.
For this position you must be able to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check. It is also essential that you are able to provide two years of employment-based references, covering the entirety of the last two years of your work history.
