R.E Teacher

Permanent, Full Time

Do you want to be part of a school community on a journey from good to outstanding?  Do you want to make a difference to outcomes for all students? This is the school for you!

The Winchester school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate R.E teacher to join their highly motivated and hard-working team.  To be successful in this role you should be an excellent classroom practitioner and have students at the heart of your decision making, with a confident understanding of the R.E curriculum. The school is looking for somebody who is creative and dynamic in the classroom and able to engage a wide range of students.  This role is suitable for an NQT, who will benefit from a comprehensive range of support and guidance.

With an overall Ofsted grade of ‘Good’, the school values are centred around ‘pride, happiness and ambition’.  Staff at the school value the fundamental role that they play in the academic and moral education of young people and understand the challenges that accompany their role as educationalists, by continuing to work to find ways to refine and improve teaching practice.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful secondary school which is ‘where teachers and leaders at all levels are enthusiastic and ambitious’ (Ofsted 2017).

GCSE RE has become an increasingly popular option choice for the past three years at the school, with 6 GCSE option classes currently running in Year 9-11 in 2020-21. Student outcomes at GCSE have increased from 66% to 73% since 2018 and the school anticipate this continuing to rise in future years.

The successful candidate will:

Be committed to comprehensive education

Have students at the heart of what drives their decision making

Be passionate and strong in subject knowledge

Engage, motivate and enthuse students of all levels

If you are an NQT or more experienced Teacher of R.E looking to further your career, we would like to hear from you.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
