Qualified Teacher – SEN & SEMH Schools

Location: Chorley & Skelmersdale
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term & Day-to-Day Supply Opportunities

About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated and fully qualified teachers to work across a variety of SEN and SEMH schools in the Chorley and Skelmersdale areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for passionate educators who are committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve both academically and personally. Opportunities are available on a full-time, long-term, and flexible day-to-day basis, making this role suitable for teachers seeking either stability or flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Effectively manage challenging behaviour using restorative and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
  • Build strong relationships with students to promote confidence, engagement, and achievement.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching within SEN, SEMH, Alternative Provision, or mainstream settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
