Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Secondary English Teacher to join a specialist education setting in the Yeovil area from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, communication skills and academic abilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Secondary English Teacher who can deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils. The successful candidate will join a supportive team that places relationships, inclusion and personal development at the heart of education.
- Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons across the secondary age range
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet a variety of learning needs
- Supporting pupils to develop literacy, communication and critical thinking skills
- Creating a positive classroom culture where students feel valued and encouraged
- Monitoring progress and celebrating individual achievements
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and families to help pupils succeed
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced English Teacher who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and can quickly become an integral part of the school community.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have relevant teaching experience
- Have experience teaching English within a secondary setting
- Understand how to support learners with SEND, SEMH needs or barriers to education
- Be adaptable, patient and committed to helping every pupil progress
- Have the ability to build strong relationships and establish trust quickly
- Be ready to hit the ground running from day one
Experience within specialist education is highly desirable, but we welcome applications from teachers who have a genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting young people to thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
