Teaching Personnel is delighted to be supporting a specialist SEN provision in Yeovil in the search for an exceptional KS3 English Teacher to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of young people with additional learning needs.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking environment where every achievement is celebrated, relationships are valued and staff are empowered to deliver engaging, meaningful lessons that build confidence as well as academic progress.
We are seeking a teacher with previous experience who can hit the ground running from day one. The ideal applicant will be confident teaching Key Stage 3 English, adaptable in their approach and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across Key Stage 3.
- Adapt learning to meet a range of Special Educational Needs.
- Create a safe, structured and positive classroom environment.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with individual learning needs.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral teams.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCP targets.
- Encourage confidence, communication skills and a love of learning.
- Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs using positive behaviour strategies.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
- Previous experience working within SEN or alternative provision.
- Strong behaviour management and excellent classroom practice.
- A resilient, proactive and compassionate approach.
- Someone who can quickly integrate into an established team and make an immediate impact.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
