As a valued member of the teaching team, you will play an important role in delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher, you will be supported with high-quality professional development, mentoring, and resources to help you succeed.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering stimulating English lessons across the relevant Key Stages, maintaining high expectations for learning and achievement. The role involves planning, assessing, and tracking pupil progress in line with school policies and national curriculum requirements, as well as creating a purposeful and engaging classroom environment with displays that celebrate student work. You will contribute to the ongoing development of schemes of learning and departmental initiatives, promote literacy, creativity, and critical thinking through inclusive teaching practices, and take on the role of Form Tutor, supporting the academic and pastoral wellbeing of your tutor group. Participation in whole-school CPD, enrichment opportunities, and school events is also an important part of the role.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status or be working towards it, with Early Career Teachers warmly encouraged to apply. You will have strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English language and literature, alongside effective classroom management and communication skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people is essential, as is a collaborative approach and a positive contribution to school life.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
