Teacher of English – September 2026 Start

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Portsmouth

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Salary: MPR/UPR

Teaching Personnel are working with a well‑established secondary school located in Portsmouth who are seeking a Teacher of English for a September 2026 start. This co‑educational school, catering to students aged 11 to 16, has a long‑standing presence in the community and is known for its inclusive values, strong pastoral care, and commitment to academic excellence.

Following its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2024, the school received ‘Good’ ratings across all key areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Inspectors praised the school as a “happy, kind and respectful” environment with high expectations for all students.

The school is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English specialist to join their successful and forward‑thinking department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact within a supportive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, contributing to the continued success of the department.

The school is looking for someone with strong subject knowledge who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification. Strong classroom management, a commitment to inclusive education, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential are essential.
