Qualified Computer Science Teacher QTS needed
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Computer Science to join a forward thinking and supportive secondary school in Harrow. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire pupils to develop strong computational thinking skills and a genuine passion for technology in a rapidly evolving digital world.
This role is suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers, with strong support in place to help you develop and succeed.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high quality Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), ensuring pupils develop confidence in programming, problem solving, and digital literacy.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging Computer Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum

Teaching core concepts such as programming, algorithms, data representation, and computer systems

Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners

Assessing pupil progress and providing clear and constructive feedback

Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning

Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement

Supporting enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, STEM events, or competitions
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
-
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it
-
Has strong subject knowledge in Computer Science or a related discipline
-
Can teach at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scratch
-
Is passionate about technology and education
-
Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills
-
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
