Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time in Wilmslow
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time position starts in October and will run until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of being made permanent based on performance. The role offers a pay range of £419.25 - £500 per week.
Role Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate to apply their knowledge and skills in an educational setting, supporting students with a variety of learning and emotional needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide tailored support to individual students or small groups, helping them engage with the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
- Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring students can fully participate in classroom activities.
- Monitoring and encouraging the progress of students, offering feedback and motivation to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SEN department, and other support staff to implement individualized learning strategies for students.
- Supporting the emotional well-being of students, helping to manage anxiety, behavior issues, and other challenges they may face.
- Assisting in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, where all students feel supported and able to succeed.
- Contributing to the school’s overall pastoral care approach, ensuring students' personal development and welfare are prioritized.

- Start Date: October, with the position running until the end of the academic year.
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
