Psychology Graduate – Education Support Roles

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Psychology graduates for Teaching Assistant and Learning Support roles across Durham secondary schools from September 2026. Whether you're considering educational psychology, teacher training, SEND, or a broader career in education, these placements give you the practical, hands-on experience that underpins all of it.
What the role involves:
- Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiated delivery
- Working with students with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Liaising with the SENCO and wider support team as required
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Psychology or a related discipline
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young people
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
- Any experience working with children or young people is advantageous
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
