Primary Teaching Assistant – Swansea
Full-Time / Part-Time | Immediate Start Available
About the Role
A friendly and supportive Primary School in Swansea is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team. This is a rewarding role supporting pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, helping them to learn, progress and feel confident in the classroom. Ideal for someone passionate about working with children and looking to develop a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support, including literacy and numeracy interventions
- Assist with pupils who have Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Help teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and behaviour support
- Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment
- Encourage positive learning habits and emotional wellbeing
- Supervise pupils during break times and school activities
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with primary-aged children (school, childcare, coaching or similar)
- Friendly, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with staff
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is an advantage but not essential
- Understanding of ALN is desirable
- Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
