Primary Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5 to 11 in a specialist primary setting. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering a rewarding opportunity to help young learners grow in confidence, independence and learning.

About the Pupils

You will be supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including:

• Autism spectrum conditions

• Communication and interaction difficulties

• Social, emotional and mental health needs

Support is personalised, consistent and focused on helping pupils reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support

• Assist with classroom activities and learning routines

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

• Support pupils’ independence and engagement

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN

• Experience within a primary setting is desirable

• A full UK driving licence is essential due to the school’s location

• Patient, proactive and nurturing approach

• Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
