We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join one of our welcoming and supportive primary schools in South Molton.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in shaping children’s early learning experiences. You will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons that support the development of key literacy, numeracy, and social skills, while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate proven teaching experience within Key Stage 1 (ideally Year 1).

Have a strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective classroom management strategies.

Show the ability to inspire, motivate, and support children with a range of learning needs and abilities.

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an up-to-date DBS.

Key Details:
• Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)
• Location: Barnstaple, Devon
• Type: Part time, Temp-to-Perm – with strong potential for a permanent post
• Pay: M1–M6 DOE (paid weekly)

Your Responsibilities:
• Teach a Year 1 class using engaging, creative, and inclusive lesson plans
• Deliver high-quality phonics and early literacy sessions
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs
• Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCO, and the wider school team
• Foster strong relationships with pupils and families
• Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all children
What We’re Looking For:
• A qualified teacher (ECTs welcome to apply)
• Genuine passion for Key Stage 1 and early education
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A reflective, motivated professional committed to ongoing development
• Experience with SEN or SEMH is beneficial but not essential
• A positive, nurturing approach to teaching and learning
