Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Exeter, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early learning, phonics, and supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.

The role:

  • Full responsibility for a Year 1 class

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents

  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent)

  • Has experience teaching Year 1 or KS1 (ECTs are welcome to apply)

  • Strong understanding of phonics and early reading

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Committed to high standards of teaching and learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
