Job description

Full-Time Teacher – PRU (Sherborne)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a small PRU based in Sherborne, who are seeking a full-time teacher to join their team.

This is a general teaching role, covering a range of classes and targeted interventions. While the pupils are secondary aged, they are working at lower academic levels, making this position particularly well suited to a primary-trained teacher or an educator experienced in differentiation and nurture-based approaches.

This role is to build capacity within the provision, rather than to cover an existing post. As such, the school is keen to utilise the successful candidate’s strengths and experience to help shape a bespoke timetable.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified teacher (QTS)
  • Have experience supporting pupils with additional or behavioural needs
  • Be flexible, patient, and committed to making a positive impact
  • Be confident delivering engaging lessons and interventions across subjects

This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive, close-knit setting where you can truly make a difference.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
