Teaching Personnel are seeking for passionate candidates to fill the role of a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in a school in Saltash. The school is looking to expand their pupil intake and therefore need to hire more staff to accommodate this. The school itself is a large welcoming environment for students to thrive in. Students also partake in both classroom and off-sight activities that you may be asked to join in on. The positions available will begin in September 2023 and the schools have indicated that they will move into a permanent position with them for the right candidate after a period of review.

 


A successful candidate must provide the following:

  • Enhanced DBS (Child Only) check before the role will commence – (Teaching Personnel can help you with this)

  • Must have a Level 2 qualification or any relevant certification

  • Experience working with people with SEN / Disabilities

  • Fully committed to the safeguarding and welfare of the students

  • Be confident supporting children and young people



The Job role:

  • Working with Primary students on a close intervention basis

  • You may be asked to partake in both classroom and external extra-curricular activities with students which creates a more versatile environment for you to work within

  • The school has an educational psychologist, which you may be working closely alongside during your employment

  • The school also has sensory rooms and caters closely to each child’s individual needs

  • Helping them meet their potential through smaller booster groups and 1:1 sessions

  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress

  • Provide support for pupils with challenging behaviour taking account of support plans and risk assessments under the direct supervision of a teacher

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
