Teaching Personnel is recruiting for an exciting opportunity within a highly supportive specialist primary provision in the Manchester area, catering for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This welcoming and well-resourced school supports primary-aged pupils (approximately ages 4-11) who require tailored educational approaches to help them thrive both academically and personally. Pupils may have needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning barriers.
The Role
As a SEN Primary Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. You will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual EHCP targets
- Manage behaviour positively and effectively using agreed strategies
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external professionals
- Promote pupil independence, confidence, and social development
- Contribute to annual reviews, reports, and EHCP documentation where required
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Experience teaching primary-aged pupils
- Knowledge of SEND, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Experience within a SEND or specialist setting is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
