Primary School Teacher – Key Stage 1 (KS1)

Location: Sandbach, Cheshire
Contract: September 2026 – February Half-Term 2027
Hours: Full-time
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Primary School Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sandbach. This is a full-time, fixed-term role beginning in September and continuing until the February Half-Term.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering high-quality teaching and creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters curiosity and confidence.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to pupils and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and leadership to support whole-school priorities.
  • Contribute to behaviour management and maintain high expectations for learning and conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies when required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare and safety of all pupils.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, whether through previous roles or placements.
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Ability to create inclusive and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience working with SEN pupils or delivering targeted interventions.
  • Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or Letters and Sounds.
  • Experience delivering continuous provision or play-based learning approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
