Position: Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary School Teacher
Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire
Start Date: Monday 13th April 2026
Contract: Full-time, until the Summer holidays
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role

A warm, supportive Primary School in Macclesfield is seeking a motivated and passionate KS1 Teacher to join their team from Monday 13th April through to the end of the academic year.
The successful candidate will join a friendly staff team and work with enthusiastic pupils who thrive in a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 national curriculum.
  • Provide creative and stimulating learning opportunities that support early academic and personal development.
  • Differentiate teaching to support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND and higher-achieving pupils.
  • Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
  • Assess, record, and communicate pupil progress in line with school policies.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced colleagues and teaching assistants.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care policies.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including events, assemblies, and enrichment activities.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A nurturing and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Commitment to high-quality teaching and professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
