Instructor / Cover Supervisor (Primary SEMH Provision)
Location: Horton, NN7
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: 2 days per week initially, with the opportunity to progress to a full-time position as the provision grows.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

We are excited to be supporting a brand-new specialist education provision in Northamptonshire in September 2026 and are looking for a passionate, adaptable, and committed Instructor/Cover Supervisor to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an exciting new setting from the very beginning, helping to shape a nurturing learning environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Primary English and Mathematics.
- Supervise learning across a range of subjects when required.
- Build positive relationships with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
- Promote high expectations, engagement, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team to develop an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the new provision.
The role will begin on a 2-day-per-week basis, with the expectation of increasing to full-time as pupil numbers expand.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- Can confidently teach Primary English and Mathematics.
- Has excellent classroom management skills and can build strong, trusting relationships.
- Is resilient, patient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
- Is flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to individual learning needs.
- Holds relevant qualifications or has equivalent experience working in education.
Desirable
- Experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or specialist setting.
- Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Instructor, Cover Supervisor, or teaching experience.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
- A current First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
