Higher Level Teaching Assistant Wanted

Pay:  £85-£100 a day

Location – CF14/15 Cardiff

Start Date- September 2023

Hours – 8:30am-3:30pm

Duration- Full-time

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a new and exciting opportunity in the Cardiff area?

The Role

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in the North of Cardiff area on a full time basis. The role involves more responsibility than a Teaching Assistant role therefore organisation and experience is important. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will offer an excellent standard of support to the class teacher and the pupils. Quick thinking and a strong initiative are a key aspect of the role in supporting.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Recognising individual needs of pupils and tailoring your approach to ensure the child understands and remains on task.
  • Confidently work 1:1 with pupils and in small groups
  • Supporting the teacher during the lesson to a high standard and assist lesson planning when teacher is on PPA time.
  • Manage behaviour appropriately and in line with the school’s behaviour management policy.

Prior to the new academic year starting, trials will be held to determine suitability. Trial’s give you the opportunity to showcase your skills and talents at the school. They also give you and the school the opportunity to see if you’re both suited.

Requirements
To be considered for the role, you will need to ensure that the below will be completed prior to the date. Teaching Personnel will support you throughout this process.

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate and Update Service
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
