Overview
A reputable school in Hinckley is seeking a dedicated and skilled Premises Officer to join their team. This role is essential for maintaining the school’s facilities to ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, plumbing, electrical work, and general upkeep of the school premises.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct regular inspections, and promptly report any issues.
- Security: Oversee the security of the school premises, including opening and closing the school, monitoring access, and ensuring the security systems are functioning properly.
- Cleaning Supervision: Supervise the cleaning staff and ensure the cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain the school grounds, including gardening and managing outdoor equipment.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events and functions.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Skills: Strong maintenance skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs, basic plumbing, and electrical tasks.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices.
- Security Awareness: Experience with security protocols and systems.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, including manual labor.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.
- Reliability: Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
