Location: North Bristol
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday (term time)
Pay: £92.60 – £105 per day

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and proactive Positive Behaviour Assistant to join an education setting in North Bristol on a full time basis from September. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), additional learning needs, and behavioural challenges.

The ideal candidate will bring a positive mindset and relevant experience from a teaching assistant background, care, youth work, psychology or education studies, sports coaching, or other people‑focused roles.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Positive Behaviour Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for children with ASC and other Special Educational Needs
  • Help implement tailored learning plans and behaviour intervention strategies
  • Support emotional regulation, communication skills and social interaction
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) techniques under the guidance of senior practitioners
  • Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and wider support teams
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive outcomes for each learner

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with:

  • Patience, empathy, resilience and a positive, proactive approach
  • Experience from care, youth support, psychology or education courses, sports coaching, or similar roles
  • A genuine passion for supporting autistic and neurodiverse learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • The ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging moments
  • A willingness to learn, develop and progress within the role
  • Reliability, teamwork and professionalism
  • A qualification is desirable but not essential
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
