SEN Primary Teacher - PMLD

Large SEN Provision

September 2026 Start

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large, well-established SEN provision to recruit an experienced Primary SEN Teacher to work within a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) class.

This rewarding role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled teacher who is passionate about supporting children with complex needs within a nurturing and highly structured primary environment.

Role Details

  • Position: SEN Primary Teacher – PMLD
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
  • Availability: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • Setting: Large SEN provision (Primary Department)
  • Agency: Teaching Personnel

The Role

  • Deliver highly personalised, sensory-based learning tailored to pupils with PMLD
  • Support pupils’ communication, physical development, and life skills alongside academic engagement
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including teaching assistants, therapists, and healthcare professionals
  • Create a calm, safe, and stimulating learning environment
  • Track progress using EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Support pupils with medical, physical, and care needs where required

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs
  • Strong understanding of sensory learning, communication strategies, and behaviour support
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
