Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a large, well-established SEN provision to recruit an experienced Primary SEN Teacher to work within a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) class.

This rewarding role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled teacher who is passionate about supporting children with complex needs within a nurturing and highly structured primary environment.

Role Details

Position: SEN Primary Teacher – PMLD
Start Date: September 2026
Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Availability: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Setting: Large SEN provision (Primary Department)
Agency: Teaching Personnel

The Role

Deliver highly personalised, sensory-based learning tailored to pupils with PMLD
Support pupils’ communication, physical development, and life skills alongside academic engagement
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including teaching assistants, therapists, and healthcare professionals
Create a calm, safe, and stimulating learning environment
Track progress using EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Support pupils with medical, physical, and care needs where required

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Proven experience working with pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs
Strong understanding of sensory learning, communication strategies, and behaviour support
A caring, patient, and flexible approach to teaching
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
