SEMH Teacher
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for SEMH Teachers to work within schools across the Caerphilly and Ystrad Mynach areas. We have flexible adhoc, part-time, and full-time opportunities available to suit the right candidates, with roles working across both Primary and Secondary settings.
This role is ideal for teachers with strong behaviour management skills who are confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning, while supporting pupils to access the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lessons to pupils who may require additional behavioural support
-
Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour within the classroom
-
Implement behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
-
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with school policies
-
Use effective de-escalation techniques when managing challenging situation
-
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
-
Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges (mainstream schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, or specialist settings)

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
-
A calm, resilient, and patient approach
-
Confidence adapting lessons to meet diverse learning and behavioural needs

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
