PE TEACHING ASSISTANT - ROCHDALE

Large school in Rochdale seek a PE Teaching Assistant to join the department in the upcoming academic year. This is a full time temporary position, supporting the department with the efficient running of PE lessons as well as extra curricular activities.

  • Get paid up to £1300 a month, dependent on experience and responsibilities
  • Perfect opportunity for anybody seeking further experience before embarking on PGCE or similar teacher training programme
  • Subject specific qualifications and training are highly desirable however we will provide additional support through our CPD training programmes.

Our client school is a large, diverse, mixed secondary school in Rochdale with great links to the local community as well as an ever increasing reputation. The school are dedicated to developing successful learners, nurturing them into confident individuals and then supporting them through their journey into responsible citizens. The school is a short distance from Rochdale infirmary and close to major transport links from the city centre, including Rochdale railway station and Rochdale interchange.

Duties include:

  • Provide additional support to the teacher in terms of planning, running and marking of PE lessons as well as extra curricular activities for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
  • Helping build pupils confidence and increase engagement through the development of their skills and knowledge of Physical Education
  • Cover cross curricular lessons in the absences of other teachers, delivering a pre-set lesson plan.
  • Deliver effective behaviour management and encourage the pupils to abide by the schools behaviour policy, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Promote the school's vision, aims, objectives and values.
