Pastoral Teaching Assistant
Our agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join a reputable Alternative Provision in Burnley. This full-time, long-term supply role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people who face social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

The Role
We are looking for a Pastoral Teaching Assistant who can:
-
Provide consistent pastoral support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils re-engage with their learning
-
Support behaviour management and help pupils make positive choices
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
-
Deliver 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs
-
Contribute to a safe, structured and nurturing environment

Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or within alternative education settings

A calm, resilient and empathetic approach

Strong communication and de-escalation skills

Ability to motivate and support pupils who may be disengaged

Professionalism, reliability and a proactive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
