 Part-Time SEN English Teacher – Further Education College 
Through Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN English Teacher to join a welcoming Further Education college in Gosport. This is a part-time teaching role 


Hours of Work

  • Monday: 3 hours

  • Tuesday: 3 hours

  • Wednesday: 1.5 hours

  • Thursday: 1.5 hours
    Total: 9 hours per week


Pay Rate

MPS/UPS – £32,916 to £51,048 per annum pro rata
Pay will be in line with teacher pay scale and dependent on experience and qualifications.

 Role Overview

You will deliver engaging, accessible English lessons tailored to learners with a range of SEN needs. The successful candidate will create a supportive classroom environment, differentiate effectively, and work collaboratively with the college’s specialist support team to help students achieve meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to SEN learners

  • Adapt teaching materials to meet a variety of learning needs

  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

  • Work closely with support staff and the wider teaching team

  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment


 Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant FE teaching qualification

  • Experience working with SEN learners (essential)

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and differentiate effectively

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
