Outreach Support Worker – Post 16 SEND

Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire
Start: January
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Hours:

  • Monday: 8:30am–4:30pm

  • Tuesday–Friday: 8:30am–1:00pm

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an Outreach Support Worker for an independent specialist school supporting post-16 students with Autism, anxiety and social communication needs.

This is a site-based role focused on emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, independence and preparation for adulthood, within an all-boys school guided by a strong ethos of kindness, inclusion and conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent SEND and emotional support to post-16 students

  • Build trusting relationships and act as a key point of contact

  • Support social education, wellbeing and EHCP outcomes

  • Promote independence and independent living skills

  • Use calm, restorative approaches to support behaviour and regulation

About You

  • Experience with SEND, SEMH or high-anxiety learners

  • Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent

  • Confident supporting young people in a nurturing but structured setting

  • Background in education, care, youth work or outreach preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
