Job description

I am working with a Nursery in the West of Cornwall, who are looking for an Early Years Nursery Nurse/Teaching Assistant. Applicants must have recent experience of supporting pre-school aged pupils and have sounds knowledge of the early years framework.


Person Specification:

  • NVQ or similar childcare qualification (CACHE, NVQ, Fdn Degree etc)
  • Experience of working with children under 5 years of age
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
  • Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)

Responsibilities of a Nursery Nurse:

  • Adhering to nursery Policies & Procedures.
  • Compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage, planning age appropriate activities.
  • Effectively working as part of a team.
  • Key worker responsibilities, keeping of development records and observations.
  • Keeping accident, medication and risk assessment records.
  • Participating in parent evenings, and children’s outings.
  • Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager.
