Job description

Are you an NQT yet to secure a role and not sure where to turn next?

As an NQT did you know that you can work as a Supply Teacher in the West Sussex area? Working as a supply teacher opens up endless possibilities of opportunity. Not only does it give you the opportunity to demonstrate your worth as a teacher without having to through interview processes, it’s a rightly respected and essential part of the smooth running of the education system.

What options do I have as an NQT working as a supply teacher?

• Opportunity for adhoc daily supply in a range of different schools

• Opportunity to secure temporary contracts and permanent roles

• Support schools with 1:1 and small group tuition to help raise attainment, support children with SEN and Looked After Children

Can I complete my induction year working as a Supply Teacher?

Yes. Providing you complete up to a term in a temporary contract, this can count towards your NQT induction year sign off. You can complete your NQT induction year in 3 different schools which isn’t a bad route to take. It shows any future employers that you are adaptable and will have gained valuable experience.

Is there opportunity of securing a permanent role through Teaching Personnel?

Yes. We provide our schools with a permanent recruitment service in addition to supply. You will hear of the latest opportunities and if permanent is what you are looking for, we will actively work on your behalf using our network of school contacts to discuss you skills and experience and secure you interviews. We will even help prepare you for any interviews with access to our bespoke interview and trial preparation guide.

How much will I be paid?

• As an NQT working as an adhoc supply teacher, you can expect to achieve between GBP90-GBP110 per day . You are not required to prepare lessons in this scenario, simply arrive at the school by 8.15am (unless instructed otherwise), cover lessons as directed by the Cover Manager and then you are free to leave at the end of the day

• As an NQT working in temporary contract, you can expect to achieve up to GBP130 per day. You should expect full NQT responsibility; planning, assessing and contributing to the wider school community.
