Job description

Are you a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) looking to make a meaningful impact in an SEN/SEMH setting?
Teaching Personnel is recruiting passionate and resilient NQTs to work across a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions in the Wigan area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for early career teachers to gain valuable experience in alternative education settings that support young people who face a range of complex learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges.


What to Expect:

  • Teaching across primary, secondary, or post-16 depending on your preference and experience

  • Working in smaller class sizes with high levels of support

  • Delivering adapted curriculum content suited to individual needs

  • Supporting students with EHCPs, behavioural needs, autism, ADHD, trauma, and more

  • Collaborative environments with experienced support staff, therapists, and SENCOs

  • Opportunities for long-term roles, daily supply, or temp-to-perm placements


We’re Looking For:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – recent graduates or those completing their ECT induction

  • A genuine passion for working with vulnerable learners

  • Patience, resilience, and confidence in managing behaviour positively

  • The ability to build relationships, differentiate lessons, and support emotional regulation

  • Willingness to work flexibly across schools in the Wigan area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
