Job description
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality Music education that develops students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of a wide range of musical styles and traditions.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
-
Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons that combine practical performance, composition, and listening skills.

Teach music theory and musical literacy in line with curriculum and examination specifications.

Support students in developing coursework and performance pieces for assessment.

Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
Assessment and Progress

Assess and track student progress accurately using formative and summative assessment.

Provide clear feedback to support improvement and achievement.
-
Prepare students for GCSE and A Level Music assessments where applicable.
Enrichment and Performance
-
Lead or support extracurricular music activities, including choirs, ensembles, and school productions.

Organise and contribute to concerts, performances, and school events.

Maintain and manage musical instruments, equipment, and facilities.
Professional Responsibilities

Engage in ongoing professional development.

Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.

Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety policies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
