Maths Teacher (Secondary Specialist Setting – ASC/Asperger’s)

Location: Grateley, near Andover, Hampshire
Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a specialist secondary setting supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Asperger’s. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring specialist teacher who is committed to helping students achieve their academic potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to secondary-aged students up to GCSE level with ASC/Asperger’s, adapting your teaching approach to meet individual learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive learning environment where students can develop confidence, independence, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning and communication needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Support students’ emotional wellbeing alongside academic achievement
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and multidisciplinary team

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Ability to teach GCSE Maths confidently
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach

Desirable

  • Experience working within specialist education or with students with ASC/Asperger’s
  • Understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning strategies
  • Experience supporting students with social communication needs
