Are you a passionate Maths Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to young people?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Maths Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Portsmouth. You will be working with pupils who may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop both academically and personally.

The Role

As an SEMH Maths Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual needs.

• Teach pupils across a range of abilities and educational backgrounds.

• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.

• Create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH and additional needs.

• Support pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.

• Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.

• Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams and other professionals.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or has relevant teaching experience.

• Confident teaching Maths across a range of abilities.

• Passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs.

• Patient, resilient and able to build strong relationships.

• Calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour.

• Creative and adaptable in their approach to teaching.

• Committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential.

Experience working within SEMH, SEND or alternative provision would be highly desirable, but a strong Maths teaching background and the right attitude are equally valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
