Teaching Personnel are currently working with a PRU in Gosport who are in need of a Fully Qualified Mathematics Teacher. The school cater for secondary aged boys who have social, emotional, mental and/or behaviour problems. They have recently undergone a building refurbishment and the school has developed into a modern looking school with good facilities. 55 students attend and they operate small class sizes, typically 6-8 students to one teacher and two Teaching Assistants in order to allow for greater support. Various learning difficulties are present at the school including ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism and a large majority of the pupils demonstrate challenging behaviour. Students at the school have been excluded from mainstream education with the aim of re-integration according to their individual development plans.
The ideal candidate would be a Fully Qualified Teacher who specialises in Mathematics. You would need to be able to work full time. If you have previous experience working with SEN children or experience with challenging behaviour this is an advantage however not essential for the right candidate. If you are trained in Team Teach this would also be an advantage. NQT's would also be considered for the position.
