Maths Teacher - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary school in Wigan to appoint a Maths teacher to start in April 2019.

Due to a staffing gap within the schools Maths teaching faculty the Headteacher at our client secondary school wishes to meet and interview teachers with the view to appointing a Maths teacher to start in April 2019.

The position is initially being offered on a full time temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year with a view to earning a permanent contract beyond this temporary basis.

  • Full time Maths teacher - April 2019 start date
  • Teaching Maths to students across KS3 and GCSE
  • Must hold QTS - Delivering Maths across the full age and ability range
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on previous teaching experience (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)

The school are considering applications from Maths teachers of all experience levels but have highlighted that be considered for this role it is essential that the incoming teacher is able to teach Maths in an engaging manner in order to raise attainment across both Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four.

For Teachers with their own transport, the school is just a short drive away from the A577 making it easily accessible from all areas within Wigan as well as surrounding areas; Bolton and Salford. The department consists of 8 full time specialist members of staff and the subject is well resourced within suited specialist rooms. The school is slightly larger than the national average with approximately 900 students on roll at present.
