Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Maths Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced specialist SEN school in Totton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled educator who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

In this rewarding role, you will deliver creative and engaging Maths lessons to secondary-aged students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that prioritises inclusion, support, and student success.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver dynamic, differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to support diverse communication and learning styles
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and wider support staff
  • Track and assess student progress, celebrating achievements along the way
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Background in SEN (mainstream or specialist settings)
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching strategies
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
