Job Title: Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) of Mathematics
Location: Hastings, East Sussex
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Hastings to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Fully Qualified Teacher of Mathematics. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator to join a supportive department committed to delivering high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, supporting progress and attainment
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student performance in line with school policies
  • Contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum and departmental resources
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics up to Key Stage 4
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Mathematics education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
