Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Mathematics to join a successful and supportive department within a thriving secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire students and contribute to a culture of high expectations and academic success. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Mathematics lessons across the relevant key stages. They will ensure that students experience a broad, balanced and well-structured curriculum that supports their understanding, confidence and progress in Mathematics. The role requires the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated, challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.

Working as part of a dedicated department, the successful candidate will plan and prepare lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of all learners. They will contribute to the development of schemes of work, teaching resources and departmental strategies that support high-quality teaching and learning. The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the department.

The teacher will use assessment and data effectively to monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment, particularly for disadvantaged students, those with additional learning needs and other vulnerable groups. They will maintain accurate records of student progress and use this information to inform teaching, learning and targeted interventions.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role includes working closely with colleagues, parents and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing. The successful candidate will also contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting school events, enrichment activities and initiatives that enhance the student experience.

We are looking for a teacher with strong subject knowledge, a passion for Mathematics and the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement, show a commitment to continuous professional development and work effectively as part of a supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
