Maths Teacher – Durham Secondary School
Long-Term Supply, MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048, September 2026
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a qualified Maths Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Durham from September 2026. This is a full subject specialist role within an established Maths department, and the school is looking for someone who can deliver confident, well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4 and make an impact from the outset.
Maths is one of the most in-demand subjects across Durham secondary schools, and strong candidates will not be without options. If you're looking for a long-term placement with a genuine route into permanent employment, this is a role worth pursuing.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting students of all abilities to build confidence and achieve strong outcomes
- Assessing progress and adapting your teaching accordingly
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events
- Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
To be considered:
- QTS or equivalent — essential
- A degree in Maths or a closely related discipline
- Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a student-centred approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
