Salary: MPS / UPS (as appropriate)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and motivated Maths Teacher to join their Mathematics department from September 2026 on a one‑year fixed‑term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an ambitious and forward‑thinking school environment with high expectations for both students and staff. The role is suitable for experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with appropriate support available.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Maths education, committed to high standards, and keen to inspire students to achieve their full potential.


The Role: Teacher of Maths

As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to a broad, inclusive, and knowledge‑rich curriculum.

You will play a key role in creating a positive learning culture that promotes academic aspiration, confidence, and resilience, while ensuring students are challenged and supported appropriately.


What You Will Do

  • Deliver high‑quality Maths teaching in line with the Teachers’ Standards
  • Plan and teach engaging lessons that meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
  • Contribute to schemes of learning and curriculum development within the Maths department
  • Use a range of teaching and assessment strategies to promote progress and achievement
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress using appropriate assessment systems
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learning and improvement
  • Set and mark homework in line with school policy
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment, and progress
  • Contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the wider life of the school
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge of Maths at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
  • Passion for supporting student progress and wellbeing
  • Willingness to collaborate and contribute positively to departmental development
  • Open to ECTs and experienced teachers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
