Job description

Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit skilled and enthusiastic Maths tutors to deliver targeted, high-impact tuition to secondary school students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexibly while helping pupils build confidence and improve their attainment in mathematics.


About the Role

You will provide focused support to pupils either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, delivering curriculum-aligned maths sessions designed to address specific learning needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a part-time, rewarding position with the ability to make a measurable difference in student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised tuition in Maths for students in KS3 and KS4

  • Address learning gaps and develop pupils' mathematical understanding

  • Adapt teaching to suit individual learning styles and ability levels

  • Provide engaging, supportive, and consistent instruction

  • Work across a variety of settings, including schools and off-site locations


Working Hours and Flexibility

  • Sessions available Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 4:00pm

  • Offer up to 10–15 hours of support per pupil per week

  • Choose your own availability to fit around your existing schedule

  • Opportunities to work with multiple pupils across the week


Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds, including:

  • Qualified teachers

  • Experienced private tutors

  • Mathematics graduates with strong subject knowledge

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience delivering Maths tuition at KS3 and/or KS4 level

  • Sound understanding of the national curriculum and assessment framework

  • Ability to engage students and build confidence in numeracy

  • Professional, organised, and self-directed approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
