We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Maths Intervention Specialist to join a vibrant secondary school in Didsbury. This role is essential in supporting students who require additional help in mathematics, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a Maths Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering targeted intervention programs designed to enhance students’ understanding and performance in mathematics. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to identify students who need extra assistance and develop tailored strategies that cater to their individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess Student Needs: Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in mathematics.
Develop Intervention Plans: Create personalized intervention plans that align with the curriculum and address specific gaps in knowledge.
Deliver Targeted Support: Provide one-on-one or small group instruction focusing on key mathematical concepts and skills.
Monitor Progress: Regularly track and evaluate student progress through assessments and feedback mechanisms.
Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies within the general curriculum.
Engage Parents/Guardians: Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress and ways they can support learning at home.
Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of student progress, interventions provided, and outcomes achieved.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students of varying abilities.
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
