Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available
Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position is available to start immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.
Role Overview:
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maths department and helping students achieve their full potential in this key subject. Your responsibilities will include:
- Student Support: Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to understand complex mathematical concepts and improve their skills.
- Classroom Assistance: Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Resource Preparation: Preparing teaching materials and resources to support lesson plans and enhance the learning experience for students.
- Progress Monitoring: Keeping detailed records of student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed, and providing feedback to teachers.
- Intervention Programs: Delivering targeted intervention programs to help students who are struggling with specific aspects of the maths curriculum.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Supporting extra-curricular activities and enrichment programs related to mathematics.
- Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, the maths department, and other support staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum and support for students.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- A passion for education and a strong interest in helping students succeed in maths.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in an accessible manner.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working in a school environment.
- Experience working with young people, either in a school setting or through tutoring, is advantageous but not essential.
